Location: Nairobi – Kenya with frequent global travel to Tdh and non-Tdh countries of operations

Context:

Terre des hommes (Tdh) engages and works with public and private actors to strengthen child protection and promote children’s rights in business strategies, operations and value chains. As part of the Child Protection (CP) sector, a Child Rights and Business team, led by the Global Child Rights and Business (CRB) Advisor and based in Tdh’s country office in Nairobi, Kenya, provides expertise and implements initiatives on CRB globally. These initiatives often include digital solutions on child rights and business. In addition, the CP sector also implements the Primero (CPIMS+) digital tool in specific contexts to support its child protection case management programming.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Child Protection (CP) Digital Solutions Specialist based in Nairobi, Kenya reports to the Global Child Rights and Business (CRB) Advisor and functionally to the Head of the Child Protection Sector. The function conducts its activity within the protection mandate of the sector by providing expertise in the domain of Child Protection digital solutions and aligns its work with the ICT4D sector/ DII department.

The Digital Solutions Specialist’s role encompasses global responsibilites in overseeing the technical implementation of and partnerships for all the digital solutions for the HQ managed projects/contracts on CRB, as well as responsibilies related to supporting the system administration of both the CPMS+ interagency tool and the Tdh Salus CRB digital tool.

More specifically, the CP Digital Solutions Specialist is thus responsible for designing, developing, configuring, rolling out, and maintenance of the digitial solutions (incl. dashboards) and the data they carry for all HQ managed projects/contracts on CRB. This role also technically steers and oversees the work of any other contracted third parties for Child Rights and Business’ digital solutions. In addition, the position leads on the capacity building of end-users of these solutions. Furthermore, s/he also supports the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning – and subsequent data-driven decision making – for Child Rights and Business through the use of the CRB digital solutions.

Beyond CRB, the position plays a cross‑cutting IM4CM role within the Child Protection sector by bridging digital solutions, case management practice, and organisational learning, ensuring that digital tools and data practices effectively support safe, ethical, and high‑quality child protection programming. This role does not replace regional or national Child Protection / Case Management (CP/CM) technical leadership on case management frameworks, but rather supports their effective implementation through safe and well‑governed digital systems.

S/he supports safe, accurate, and high-quality case management information systems globally for Tdh by technically supporting Tdh CPIMS+ system administrators in the field. The role ensures that case data is collected, stored, analyzed, and shared in line with global data protection standards to support effective service delivery, evidence-based decision-making, and accountability to affected populations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in information management, Data Science, Social Sciences, Information Systems, or a related field.

    + Advanced training on IM4CM, Primero/CPIMS+ and other digital tools.

    + Knowledge of Child Rights and Business, global child protection standards and best practices – specifically in the area of case management.

    + Knowledge of Tdh’s Child Protection Programming, Tdh’s Safeguarding Policy and Tdh Data Protection Policy is an asset.

    Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in information management within humanitarian or protection programmes.

  • At least 3 years of experience in working with Primero/CPIMS+ in a Systems Administration role.

  • Demonstrated experience managing case management information systems (e.g. CPIMS+, GBVIMS+).

  • Proven experience in the field of children’s rights within the private sector, human rights due diligence, child protection, case management, child labour programming and working with children, young people and/or adults who are vulnerable.

    Languages

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • A second language being in French, Spanish or Arabic is preferred

  • IT: Microsoft office tools
