Missing Children Europe

Missing Children Europe

Position description

Missing Children Europe is looking to recruit a creative and proactive Campaigns Officer to develop and deliver high-impact campaigns that raise awareness of children’s rights, mobilise public support, and generate income for our work.

The position will split time between Missing Children Europe’s core campaigns and projects (including on online grooming) and communications support for the European Child Sexual Abuse Legislation Advocacy Group (ECLAG), a coalition advocating for EU regulation to better protect children online.

Tasks

Campaigns

      • Design and deliver integrated campaigns that drive fundraising, raise awareness, and support advocacy goals;
      • Develop campaign strategies that translate advocacy objectives into public-facing actions;
      • Organise and implement EU-wide and national campaign activities, including collaborative campaigns with members and external partners;
      • Raise public and political awareness about missing children (e.g. through International Missing Children’s Day), and other flagship initiatives;
      • Build and coordinate partnerships with external stakeholders, including media, tech companies, and campaign allies, to increase reach and impact;
      • Coordinate campaign-related capacity building, such as training for journalists and strengthening communication capacities of advocacy coalitions, such as ECLAG;
      • Contribute to campaigns and advocacy activities addressing online child sexual abuse, including supporting ECLAG’s efforts to advance EU legislation aimed at preventing and combating child sexual abuse online.

Communications

      • Create compelling content for digital and offline channels (social media, newsletters, website, press releases, opinion pieces, etc.), in line with the organisation’s communication and fundraising strategy;
      • Support the management of the organisation’s main website and project websites;
      • Monitor media coverage and report on communication campaigns, social media reach, engagement, and Google Analytics.

Qualifications

      • Higher degree in communications, marketing, public relations, political science, or a related field;
      • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in designing and delivering successful campaigns (fundraising, advocacy, or supporter engagement);
      • Native-level proficiency in English (other European languages are an asset);
      • Strong understanding of digital platforms and supporter mobilisation;
      • Knowledge of advocacy campaigning, policy influence, online safety, or child rights (desirable);
      • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to generate and pitch creative ideas;
      • Proactive and confident self-starter, able to take initiative and drive projects forward;
      • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to support multiple projects efficiently;
      • Collaborative mindset: able to work well in a small team and support colleagues across communications and fundraising;
      • Positive attitude, adaptable, and open to feedback;
      • Ability to work creatively within budget constraints.
