Position description

The Department of Political Science and International Relations at Loyola Marymount University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in American politics. LMU values community engagement, diversity, social justice, and inclusive pedagogy in fostering academic excellence. 

The position is for one year (2025-2026) and has a 3-3 teaching load for the academic year (three courses in the fall and three courses in the spring).

We seek a dedicated teacher-scholar with demonstrated or the potential of teaching excellence. We strongly encourage women, minorities, and individuals from underrepresented groups to apply.

Candidates should submit Application materials via the LMU Human Resources online application portal. Applicants should include: 1) a cover letter; 2) a curriculum vitae; 3) teaching evaluations (if available); and 4) a writing sample.
