Position description

The Team Lead will be responsible for the successful delivery of EFECT project activities at the county level. Based in one of the three counties, you’ll provide leadership and field-level oversight to implementation teams and stakeholders. You’ll monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure achievement of project goals and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Implementation (75%)

  • Lead and support field staff (Social Workers, Business Officers, Advocacy Officers) to achieve project deliverables;
  • Develop and manage county-level monthly work plans and weekly progress reports;
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor, verify, and support project implementation;
  • Manage day-to-day county office operations, including oversight of financial and material resources;
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities and stakeholders, including active participation in county-level forums;
  • Oversee accurate data collection and verification of project beneficiaries;
  • Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure high-quality data collection, cleaning, and analysis;
  • Verify and approve beneficiaries based on project criteria.

Reporting (20%)

  • Contribute to narrative, MEAL, and donor reports;
  • Collaborate with the finance team to review and support financial reporting;
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and donor requirements;
  • Document and share project impact stories for learning and advocacy.

Other (5%)

  • Represent Street Child in a professional and positive manner internally and externally;
  • Coordinate logistics for stakeholder, donor, or internal visits;
  • Uphold Street Child’s mission, values, and safeguarding standards;
  • Perform any other tasks relevant to the role.

Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in education, livelihoods, or social work programs;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in International Development or a related field;
  • Experience in development programming and team leadership (preferred);
  • Proven track record of delivering project goals through collaboration;
  • Experience with digital data tools (e.g. Commcare or Kobo);
  • Experience working in culturally diverse settings.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
  • Strong planning and time management capabilities;
  • Coaching and capacity-building skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and solution-oriented;
  • Professional fluency in English (written and spoken).
