BFA Global

<div class="prose-job-description“>

Position description

BFA Global is an impact innovation firm combining research, advisory, venture building and investment expertise to build a more inclusive, equitable and resilient future for underserved people and the planet. The Jobtech Alliance, launched by BFA Global and Prosper Global, is a pan-African ecosystem-building initiative around inclusive jobtech. Digital Advancement for Women Now (DAWN) is a project in Nigeria that helps underserved young people, with a focus on young women, refugees and displaced people, and persons with disabilities, access safe, inclusive and dignified work through jobtech startups.

The Senior Venture Builder will help DAWN’s portfolio of jobtech and digital platforms grow, strengthen their business models, and expand their capacity to create sustainable, inclusive work opportunities for financially disadvantaged youth. This is a highly hands-on role combining venture building, strategic advisory, experimentation and technical assistance. Reporting to the Head of Venture Building, the postholder works directly with founders and leadership teams to diagnose constraints, design and run experiments, analyze data, and turn business growth into measurable transition-to-work outcomes.

Key responsibilities:
– Support platform selection and portfolio development (5%): source and assess jobtech platforms for commercial potential, scalability, inclusion and fit; contribute to due diligence and selection committee processes.
– Lead venture-building engagements (65%): lead Sprint 0 and diagnostics, define scopes with measurable objectives, advise founders on business model, growth, product, operations, fundraising and partnerships, coordinate specialists, manage budgets and timelines, and document learnings.
– Drive business growth and transition-to-work outcomes (10%): remove bottlenecks to worker onboarding and activation, address barriers for young women, refugees and persons with disabilities, and track outcomes.
– Ecosystem and partnership engagement (10%): build relationships with investors, corporates, funders and accelerators, and represent BFA Global and DAWN at events.
– Learning, insights and methodology (10%): harvest insights, document case studies and playbooks, and contribute to thought leadership.

Qualifications

– 7+ years of relevant experience in venture building, startups, accelerators, consulting, venture capital, product management or innovation.
– Experience working directly with startup founders and supporting startups in Nigeria or other emerging markets.
– Strong understanding of business models, unit economics, growth strategy and fundraising; experience with MVPs, pilots and lean product methods.
– Strong quantitative and analytical skills; excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Technology, Entrepreneurship or a related field; an MBA or Master’s degree is an advantage.

Fixed-term contract from January 2027 to December 2029. Compensation commensurate with experience.
