Position description

This is a Project Coordinator Position on the Global Public Policy and Positioning Team under the supervision of the Global Director for Development Finance. The Program Coordinator will support the management of relationships with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and other development partners to achieve strategic objectives and leverage funds. The Program Coordinator will support the Global Director and the IFI Portfolio to maximum impact of Bayer’s sustainability commitments as well as commercial business growth in line with Bayer priorities. Exceptional communication, organization and management skills are required. This role is based in the Washington, D.C. office and will require some travel (up to 20%).

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Program Coordinator – International Financial Institution Portfolio, are to:

      • Support the IFI Global Director of Development Finance and team in building relations with bilateral and multilateral development organizations in support of business expansion and sustainability priorities;
      • Lead the creation and implementation of standardized methodologies, frameworks, tools and metrics to drive a globally consistent external stakeholder engagement strategy;
      • Support project coordination and preparation of Bayer’s participation in major global conferences such as the Fall and Spring World Bank Meetings;
      • Represent Bayer at international events, seminars, and relevant meetings to promote initiatives, identify additional opportunities to meet the sustainability and business goals;
      • Write blogs, articles and talking points on issues related to health and development, food security, women’s health, innovation and the SDGs;
      • Maintain current understanding of the relevant international institutions, key areas of focus, operating processes, and relative priority to Bayer across the sustainability agenda.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

      • Experience interacting with the International Financial Institutions;
      • Familiarity with both the bilateral and multilateral development banks and their ways of working;
      • Project coordination experience;
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize responsibilities;
      • Excellent written communications skills;
      • Research experience;
      • Experience planning and preparing for events;
      • Experience working in or with large organizations;
      • Educational background with a focus in international relations, development issues, public affairs, or communications;
      • Excellent understanding of current political, environmental, economic and development affairs;
      • Understanding of the international stakeholder landscape, their interactions and relevance for Bayer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent English skills. Spanish and/or German language skills are a plus.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $105,195 – $157,792. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
