New York University School of Law

New York University School of Law

Position description

The Reiss Center on Law and Security (RCLS) at NYU School of Law and the NYU Center for Cybersecurity (CCS) are seeking an enterprising, dynamic Program Associate. The Program Associate role offers an opportunity to contribute to all aspects of our work on many of the most challenging national security and cybersecurity issues of our time.

We are looking for a collegial teammate who is enthusiastic about learning new subjects and skills; who is sharp, self-driven, and dedicated to quality output; and who maintains good judgment and attention to detail while working across multiple projects.

About Us

The Reiss Center on Law and Security is a non-partisan multidisciplinary research institute focused on cultivating an informed dialogue, educating the next generation of leaders, and fostering groundbreaking research on the vital law and policy questions that will shape the national security field for years to come. Reiss Center publications and events include an original, open-source database of presidential war powers practice over five decades; high-level discussions on topics such as the U.S. elections on a global stage, emerging geopolitical challenges, and developments within key domestic national security agencies; and keynote addresses and fireside chats with leading experts. The Reiss Center is home to Just Security, the online publication on law, rights and national security. Reiss Center leadership and affiliates have significant experience in national security law and policy – including at the State Department, White House, and Department of Justice – and include regional and foreign policy experts and legal scholars.

The NYU Center for Cybersecurity is an interdisciplinary research institute at New York University that is dedicated to training current and future generations of cybersecurity professionals and to shaping both public discourse and the legal, policy and technological landscape on issues of cybersecurity. Its unique structure as a partnership between NYU School of Law and the Tandon School of Engineering provides exciting opportunities to examine cybersecurity law and policy while supported by deep technical expertise. CCS also runs several scholarship programs for law and engineering students to bring more students into the cyber field. CCS’s recent activities at NYU School of Law include the Women Leaders in Cybersecurity conference series, and multi-panel events and private dinner roundtables covering a range of topical cybersecurity issues.

  • Coordinate event preparation and logistics for both virtual and in-person events, and provide day-of staffing and other support.
  • Assist in conceiving and developing new programs and initiatives.
  • Liaise with the centers’ fellows and external partners, speakers, and other leaders in the field to further the centers’ programming, and engage with the national security-focused student community at NYU Law.
  • Assist the centers’ leadership with preparation for their national security and cybersecurity coursework at NYU Law.
