Position description

Objective

  • Responsible for international communications to strengthen the organization’s positioning and contribute to fundraising objectives.

Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Responsible for the design, development, execution, monitoring, and reporting of the INTERNATIONAL communication strategy (B2B and B2C) across external channels (outside Spain) and countries.

Marketing and Communication Plans

  • Design, planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of INTERNATIONAL marketing and communication plans.

Alignment with Other Areas of the Organization

  • Coordination with Programs, Partnerships, Sector teams, Institutional Relations, and other areas to define strategic and tactical plans.

Team Coordination

  • Coordination of the regional marketing and communication team and alignment with country marketing and communication teams: planning, implementation, monitoring, control, and reporting.

International Institutional Positioning

  • Represent the organization before European institutions, international networks, and civil society platforms to strengthen the organization’s positioning in key spaces related to its strategic themes.
  • Participate in relevant events, forums, and dialogue spaces.
  • Identify opportunities to showcase the organization’s experience in Latin America, Africa, and Spain.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders to promote alliances and facilitate connections with different types of stakeholders, including media, the European Parliament, and European NGO networks.

Content

  • Development of strategic content and narratives to strengthen the organization’s positioning.
  • Alignment of international content with the strategy in Spain and with corporate channels.
  • Design and implementation of the international strategic content and communication calendar.
  • Analysis, planning, monitoring, and control of headquarters’ content needs together with the Corporate Channels Manager.
  • Monitor the international media conversation (Europe, LATAM, Africa) to identify relevant positioning opportunities for the organization.
  • Responsible for Ayuda en Acción’s image and for safeguarding the brand’s DNA.
  • Development of the tools required for execution and control, including the global calendar, guidelines, and toolkits.

Team

  • Responsible for the planning, coordination, and monitoring of the regional communication team and regional channels, as well as coordination and alignment with country communication teams.
  • Management of suppliers and agencies at a global level.

Budget & KPIs

  • Monitoring, analysis, and reporting of the annual budget, marketing plan, and tactical plans.
  • Closure of AARs.
  • Development of tools for executive monitoring and reporting.

People Management

  • Development and management of people to maximize the area’s talent, professional growth, and achievement of objectives.
  • 20% of working time will support Alliance 2015 communication actions.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree in Communication, Journalism, Advertising, or Public Relations.
  • A mixed background combining communication and business/marketing is highly valued.
  • A Master’s degree in Corporate Communication, International Relations, Cooperation, or International Management is desirable, especially within NGO or third-sector contexts.
  • 10 years of experience leading multichannel communication strategies aimed at institutional audiences and the private sector at an international level.
  • Experience with the institutional functioning of the European Union.
  • International and/or regional experience coordinating several countries, markets, or global stakeholders.
  • Essential experience in the Third Sector or International Cooperation Organizations working with global B2B stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams and managing talent to achieve objectives in collaborative and demanding environments.
  • Experience managing agencies, suppliers, and budgets in complex environments involving multiple internal areas.
  • Experience in strategic communication planning, corporate communication and branding, content management, and cross-functional coordination.

Languages

  • Required: Spanish and English, C2 professional level.
  • Highly valued: French and/or Portuguese.

Geographical Mobility

  • Yes. International (40%).
