The Partnerships, Communication, and Reporting (PCR) unit is responsible for identifying new partnership, leveraging existing WFP partnership, and enhancing visibility of partners to support the achievement of its Country Strategic Plan outcomes. To support the country in reaching its long-term development goals and responding to the Rohingya crisis, WFP closely collaborates with UN agencies, non-governmental organization (NGO) partners, private sector actors, civil society, international financial institutions, donors, and research partners in line with its resource mobilization strategy.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting press releases, compelling stories and other strategic communication products to enhance the Unit’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts
- Capitalize significant events/international days to raise awareness of WFP’s work strategically and creatively
- Monitor the media and social media space, come up with relevant research to help the Unit and the Country Office staff stay abreast of the latest social media trends, developments and risks
- Assist in developing advocacy briefs, thank you letters, talking points, creative campaigns, media/communication events, etc.
- Assist in visual content gathering and production
- Assist in managing social media accounts
- Undertake other responsibilities and tasks, as required.
Requirements:
- Secondary Education, currently studying towards a degree in Economics, Development Economics, International Development, Public Management, International Relations, Communication or other relevant field.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in communications, and/or public relations:
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience in another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate technical language into compelling and easy-to-digest communication language.
- Knowledge and familiarity with communication strategy design and implementation.
- Ability to utilize different communication tools and channels creatively to reach different audiences.
- Knowledge of food security, nutrition, resilience and other related fields a plus.
