Gen G is an emerging global social discussion platform built around conversations, opinions, debates, interests, entertainment, technology, sports, culture, news, and everyday life.

We are building Gen G from an early stage with the ambition of creating a global platform where people can discover conversations, express opinions, participate in communities, and connect with others around topics they care about.

We are now building our founding team.

About the Role

We are looking for a Founding Conversation & Content Builder to help establish the conversation culture of Gen G.

This is one of our earliest team positions.

You will not simply be given a content calendar and asked to produce articles. Your role is to help determine what people should be talking about on Gen G.

You will identify interesting topics, emerging trends, debates, questions, and cultural conversations and transform them into engaging discussions on the platform.

You will work closely with our community growth function to ensure that when new people arrive at Gen G, they find an active environment with conversations worth joining.

Key Responsibilities

• Discover emerging and relevant conversations across the internet and online communities.
• Identify topics that have strong potential for discussion.
• Create original discussion prompts, questions, debates, polls, and conversation starters.
• Seed conversations across appropriate Gen G boards.
• Help maintain activity across important community areas.
• Participate in early discussions and encourage meaningful interaction.
• Experiment with different discussion formats and topics.
• Monitor which discussions attract replies, participation, and returning users.
• Identify successful content and conversation patterns.
• Work with the Community Growth team to create discussions that can attract new participants.
• Help develop Gen G’s early content and conversation strategy.
• Provide regular feedback on what is working, what is not, and what the community appears to want.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who understands the internet and, more importantly, understands people’s desire to talk.

You may be a strong candidate if you:

• Naturally follow online trends and internet culture.
• Enjoy discussions, debates, opinions, and communities.
• Understand what makes a topic interesting enough for someone to comment on.
• Have strong written communication skills.
• Can turn a basic topic into an engaging discussion.
• Are comfortable researching topics independently.
• Are proactive rather than waiting for instructions.
• Can work independently in a remote environment.
• Are interested in social platforms, digital communities, media, technology, entertainment, culture, or audience development.
• Want meaningful responsibility at an early-stage technology company.

Professional journalism or content-writing experience is useful but not required.

We care more about your ability to recognize opportunities and create conversations than about having a particular degree.

What Success Looks Like

Your objective is not simply to produce a certain number of posts.

Your objective is to create conversation and participation.

Success may include:

• Creating discussions that generate meaningful replies.
• Turning an inactive board into an active discussion area.
• Identifying topics that bring new users into Gen G.
• Developing repeatable conversation formats that perform well.
• Helping early users become regular contributors.
• Increasing the amount and quality of user-generated discussion on the platform.

Compensation

Gen G is currently an early-stage, pre-revenue startup and does not yet have the capital to provide a conventional cash salary for this founding-stage position.

Rather than presenting this as unpaid work, we are offering equity-based compensation to selected founding team members.

1. The expected equity range for this position depending on experience, expected contribution, responsibility, and commitment.

The final equity grant will be agreed upon with the selected candidate and documented through a formal equity agreement.

Equity will be subject to applicable vesting terms and the company’s legal structure.

As Gen G develops and reaches sustainable revenue or external funding, our compensation structure will evolve accordingly.

Important: Equity represents ownership in an early-stage company and is not guaranteed to have monetary value. Candidates should understand the risks associated with joining an early-stage startup.
