Position description

The International Program Manager for the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, administration, and coordination of international strategic partnership initiatives of OGA in support of the Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs. This position interacts daily with key stakeholders across the SUNY system as well as with OGA staff and colleagues Academic Affairs and the Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs.

Duties Include

  • Utilize project management principles and skills to ensure delivery of key strategic initiatives and programs on behalf of the Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs.
  • Work collaboratively with functional areas within SUNY System Administration, SUNY campuses, the SUNY Research Foundation, and all related entities to ensure timely completion of key priorities.
  • Provide comparative analysis of federal and state policies for the US and international targeted countries.
  • Develop and maintain a policy matrix for SUNY policy compliance to state and federal regulations
  • Review SUNY policies and make recommendations for updates and revisions.
  • Support the development of data analytics and forecasting through public repositories for research outputs, e.g., publications, awards, innovation, etc.
  • Collaborate with the SUNY campus leadership and international offices to help organize appropriate committee meetings, including coordinating meeting agenda, minutes, slides, and other pre-meeting materials.
  • Liaise and coordinate with NYS agencies as needed on international projects, e.g., Empire State Development and The Netherlands.
  • Manage complex scheduling initiatives for internal and stakeholder engagement, including long-term planning, with the ability to use significant discretion in execution.
  • Coordinate the management of office and program logistics for partnership meetings and events attended by or hosted by OGA, including all necessary travel arrangements and budgetary reconciliation.
  • Assist in the research of key issues in developing briefing materials for review by senior leadership in support of strategic research partnership initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work may require flexible hours, evenings, and weekends in order to support the operational needs of the office.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

The Successful Candidate Will Possess

  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of demonstrated success working with a high degree of independence in a complex, multi-faceted organization.
  • Considerable knowledge of project management processes and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to use independent judgement and maintain confidentiality.
  • A demonstrated commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Project management certification or such equivalency
  • International work, study, or living experience.

Additional Information

  • This position can be located in either Washington DC, or Albany NY.
  • Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $68,000 – $80,000 annually.
  • Excellent Benefit Package which includes: NYS health insurance, free dental and vision coverage, competitive retirement options, tuition assistance, parental leave at full pay, and generous vacation, sick, and holiday time. 13 days of paid holidays per year; 21 days of vacation, and 21 days of sick time accrued each year. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.
