Position description
The intern will support the smooth functioning of the PSD Front Office under the supervision of the Adviser to the Managing Director of PSD.
Policy, Strategy and Delivery (PSD) Department is established within the Vice Presidency for Policy Partnerships and responsible for delivering the strategy, policy and operational support functions across all of the Banks transition qualities except green / climate, including Economic Governance, Gender and Human Capital, Capital & Financial Market Development, and Digital Transition. PSD does this by enhancing the quality, delivery and impact of the Banks interventions through leading and supporting policy engagements in the countries of operation including policy advisory, reform advocacy and capacity building, by providing political and political economy analysis in support of operations and high-level dialogue with the leadership of Countries of Operations, and supports the origination and structuring of transactions with policy/sectoral reform linkages and components.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support the day-day function of the PSD Front Office, including coordinating and drafting briefing notes for senior management as required; assisting with the MDs speaking engagements at conferences and internal events, and participation in key committees;
- Perform data management and analytical tasks related to the analysis and tracking of policy engagement and technical cooperation activities of the Department;
- Support operational matters related to project reviews, portfolio of technical cooperation / policy advisory activities, and operational risk reporting;
- Perform ad-hoc research and analysis of policy engagement / strategic issues that contribute to high level strategic documents of the Department;
- Support the Departments communications, which entail, among others, managing internal intranet updates, writing internal and external posts and presentations, helping senior management handle their social media accounts, and coordinating report production, publication and promotion;
Qualifications
- Proven organisational and analytical skills;
- Ability to multitask, lead on projects under the guidance of the Adviser and get engaged in complex issues;
- Good understanding and interest in the issues of economics, policy and financial investments, and familiarity with the EBRD region;
- Excellent written (report writing, editing, correspondence) and verbal communication skills in English;
- Excellent quantitative/numerical skills;
- Advanced computer skills (in particular, MS Excel, MS List and PowerPoint, web content management systems);
- A can-do attitude and excellent people skills;
Eligibility
- Bachelors degree in economics, international development, finance or another discipline relevant
- Candidate must be a national of an EBRD member country.
