Position description

This is a volunteer position, specifically for volunteers based in the U.S.

About Us:

International Transformation Foundation (ITF) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young people and fostering sustainable water resource development. Our mission focuses on improving access to clean water, promoting youth entrepreneurship, and creating economic opportunities in underserved communities. ITF engages young leaders in service projects that address real-world challenges, including clean water initiatives and community development efforts in Africa. Through these programs, participants gain leadership experience while contributing to meaningful global impact. Our work combines hands-on service with cross-cultural learning to help develop informed and engaged global citizens. This opportunity works with our U.S. chapter, ITF USA.

About the Opportunity:

As the Fundraising & Grants Director, you will lead ITF’s fundraising strategy by expanding grant funding, strengthening donor relationships, and identifying new partnership opportunities. Working closely with leadership and program teams, you will help secure the resources needed to advance ITF’s mission of improving access to clean water and empowering communities. This role provides valuable experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant development, donor stewardship, and strategic planning. Please note that this is a remote volunteer position.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement ITF’s annual fundraising strategy.
  • Lead grant prospect research and identify new funding opportunities.
  • Oversee the development, review, and submission of grant proposals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individual donors.
  • Manage the grants pipeline, submission calendar, and reporting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop project budgets and funding proposals.
  • Monitor grant compliance and prepare donor reports.
  • Identify new fundraising partnerships and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Support donor stewardship through regular communications and engagement.
  • Track fundraising performance and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Supervise Fundraising team members and support their professional development.
  • Research emerging trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising.

Eligibility:

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, international development, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations within the nonprofit sector.
  • Preferred: Experience developing successful grant proposals and managing donor relationships.
  • Preferred: Strong writing, relationship-building, project management, and strategic planning skills.
  • Preferred: Experience working with international development or humanitarian organizations.
  • Minimum availability of 15 hours per week for at least six months.
