Position description

Asian University for Women (AUW) is an independent, international institution dedicated to educating women across Asia and the Middle East. Duties

About the Position: AUW is seeking a Director of Foundation Program, which provides academic leadership and operational oversight for the University’s one to two year Pre-UG preparatory program and the foundation curriculum in the first two trimester of the UG program. This program is a cornerstone of AUW’s mission, enabling the university to maintain flexible admissions policies while upholding rigorous academic standards at graduation. The Pre-UG program offers an intensive English language curriculum and prepares students for successful entry into the undergraduate program. Additional preparation is provided in mathematics, computer fundamentals, introduction to sciences, life skills, leadership, and martial arts. Key Responsibilities:

      • Lead the strategic planning, academic quality assurance, and operational management of the Foundation Program across Pre-UG and UG Year 1, trimesters 1 & 2.
      • Oversee curriculum design and alignment in English, Math, Computer Fundamentals and Applications, Life Skills, and Introductory Sciences.
      • Ensure smooth student progression from Pre-UG to trimester 3 of the UG program.
      • Recruit, mentor, onboard, and evaluate faculty, and facilitate professional development for teaching diverse learners.
      • Monitor student performance and implement targeted academic support interventions.
      • Collaborate with university leadership to align foundation outcomes with AUW’s UG academic goals and requirements.
      • Introduce innovative and state of the art pedagogical techniques and technological facilitators for learning.
      • Manage budgets and program resources efficiently. Coordinate scheduling and program evaluation.
      • Ensure effective use of pedagogical technologies and assessment tools.
      • Maintain compliance with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards, as applicable.
      • Foster a learning environment that supports students from diverse and often vulnerable backgrounds.

Qualifications

      • Minimum of 15 years of experience in ESL or related secondary school teaching fields.
      • At least 3 years in a leadership role involving curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and faculty management, preferably with leadership and teaching experience in community colleges, and university foundation programs.
      • Demonstrated experience with educational technology and program coordination.
      • Strong intercultural communication skills and a commitment to women’s education.
      • Strategic leadership and program management.
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
      • Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
      • Data-driven decision-making and program evaluation expertise.
      • Master’s or PhD degree in Education, ESL, or a related field preferred.
      • English Fluency (C1 or C2 level)
