Position description

Work setup: We operate in a hybrid work environment, and we encourage applicants who are open to working in the office two days a week to apply.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, Shifting, 11AM to 7PM Manila time and 3PM to 11PM Manila time, overlaps with UK operating hours

Employment type: Permanent

Location: Makati City, Metro Manila

Pay range: Php 62,000 to 84,000

We are looking for a DevOps Application Engineer with strong, hands-on AWS experience to join our team. In this role, you will design, manage, and support scalable and reliable AWS Cloud Infrastructure, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and build Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform. You will play a vital role across Business-As-Usual operations, projects, and on-demand tasks in an Agile DevOps environment. The role includes reviewing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across production and non-production systems within our AWS cloud and data centre environments, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices and industry standards.

What will you do as an Application Engineer?

Reporting to the Manila Team Lead – Application Engineer, your accountabilities will include:

• Manage and prepare for the implementation of projects in the operational/support environments including evaluation, feasibility, technical investigations, pilots, and proof of concepts, training and knowledge transfer to and from other teams.
• Day to day provision of second/third line support for technologies that the team owns within agreed SLAs. Build and maintain effective relationships and lines of communication with other Technology Teams, third party suppliers and the Business Streams to facilitate effective delivery.
• Organise and manage maintenance activities, including deployments, ad-hoc work packages, service improvements and patching of servers, to support business peaks following approved instructions.
• Be the Application Subject Matter Experts. Produce quality up-to-date in-depth technical documentation, present technical concepts to wider audience at all levels, and conduct knowledge transfer within the team.

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?

An ideal candidate has demonstrated ability to deliver results with limited guidance and has the following qualities:

Essential:

• Education & Experience: Degree or equivalent experience with 3+ years in AWS Cloud Engineering, Architecture, or Infrastructure within SysAdmin or DevOps roles.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, and Jenkins, and Infrastructure-As-Code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
• Cloud & Virtualization: Strong knowledge of AWS, troubleshooting cloud environments, and experience with virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V.
Desirable:

• Working knowledge in Unix and Windows administration
• Working knowledge of Service Management Process
