Manager, Global Communications

Summary:
The Communications team is focused on driving programs and activities that evolve, promote and protect Mastercard’s reputation among key internal and external audiences. The broader team has been designed to closely mirror the business, align to corporate and business-level objectives and support the company’s efforts in delivering world-class payments experiences.

The Manager of Communications will prioritize global programming for the Transfer Solutions business – supporting the development and execution of strategic communications programs and campaigns to raise awareness of the business and establish its reputation in global money movement, focusing on Mastercard’s money movement proposition Mastercard Move.

Responsibilities will encompass a full spectrum of integrated, cross-business communications activities including executive profiling, internal communications, media relations, digital strategy & social media activation, content creation, and events management. The role will support communications activities globally and in partnership with the regions.

The candidate will be a strong communications professional with experience in either internal or external communications or both. A knowledge and interest in technology, innovation in payments, and B2B services are strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities:
Work in collaboration with the Director, Transfer Solutions and the broader Global Communications team to build and enhance Mastercard’s reputation and proposition in global money movement through clear and impactful internal and external storytelling, media relations, social media engagement and industry event participation.
Key areas of responsibilities are below:
• Develop storytelling initiatives and messaging to showcase the business strategy, product innovations and partnerships for both internal and external audiences
• Deliver external communications program for Transfer Solutions, leveraging the business’ news and insights to capture positive share of voice in the market.
• Proactively build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key financial services, payments and tech top-tier and trade media and influencers to support product/service launches and raise executive profiles.
• Provide messaging and logistical support for internal communications events, such as town halls, fireside chats, and panel discussions, as well as industry events.
• Manage and leverage sponsorships, industry events, and conferences to raise awareness and reputation for the business.
• Partner across regions to provide global messaging and positioning guidance, and administer key governance processes for emerging tech and payments products
• Work alongside the digital communications team to drive a paid, earned, and owned approach for external announcements and storytelling.
• Use measurement tools to assess the impact of communications programs to refine activities.

Qualifications:
You are a motivated, critical thinker, with an affinity for technology, innovative ways to pay such as stablecoin/digital assets and curious about what’s next in payments and money movement. In addition, you are comfortable with technical products and solutions and demonstrate interest in driving communications strategies closely aligned to business priorities.
You are a clear, strategic writer, capable of distilling complex arguments and propositions into accessible and compelling narratives. And you are a passionate communicator with deep attention to detail, motivated by metrics-led success, and a true partnership with the business and its leadership.
• Strong writer, with the ability to bring complex topics to life, simply and clearly
• Strong executive presence and ability to work collaboratively and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global work environment
• Solid understanding of balancing and prioritizing needs of multiple stakeholders
• Demonstrated track record of media relationships and placements
• Entrepreneurial, creative thinker, pursuing new ideas and bringing best practices
• Strict attention to detail and enthusiasm for collaboration
