Position description

International Relief – Remote (U.S. Based)       

Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking an experienced Programs Manager to provide strategic planning, development, technical oversight, and general management to OB’s Livelihood and Food Security programs to include microenterprise, agriculture, animal husbandry, and vocational training initiatives in Latin America and Africa. Serving in this position facilitates ministry activities and contributes to OB’s Biblical mission to extend a helping hand in Christ’s name to meet physical and spiritual needs.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Two years working knowledge in microenterprise, agriculture, animal husbandry, food security, or livelihood programs in a nonprofit organization.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Agribusiness, or other related degree preferable
  • Experience in non-profit humanitarian development
  • Working knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) best practices
  • Computer literate (thorough understanding of MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel) with ability to learn new software and technology
  • Extensive working knowledge of cross-cultural environments and customs
  • Critical thinker with strong research, analytical skills and ability to make sound recommendations and decisions
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative, be innovative, work independently, and function as a team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with ability to train others
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish professional rapport with all levels of management, staff, and public
  • Flexible with ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel periodically to headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA and internationally as assigned, up to 30% of the year, mostly to Latin America and Africa
  • Spanish language skills preferred
  • Demonstrated life Application of Biblical principles and practices in alignment with OB’s nonprofit Christian mission
