Position description
The Department of Security Studies and International Affairs in the College of Arts & Sciences seeks an adjunct (part-time) faculty member to teach Critical Thinking and Analysis at the Daytona Beach, Florida campus.
Course Description:
Critical thinking and analytic methodologies commonly used in intelligence. Cognitive and perceptual biases and their effect on objective analyses, uncertainly, and the evaluation of information sources. Structured analytic techniques, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Cognitive and perceptual biases which affect analysis and techniques for recognizing and mitigating the impact of biases.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in accordance with course syllabus.
- Prepare and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Hold regular office hours to support student learning.
- Collaborate with department faculty and staff to ensure course quality and consistency.

Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate hours in the discipline they intend to teach.
- Prior teaching experience at the college level is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
