We Are Hiring a Brussels Bureau Chief
We are looking for a dynamic professional to lead News Tank Academic’s Brussels bureau and support our growth across the European higher education, research, and innovation landscape.
As the face of News Tank Academic in Brussels, you will strengthen our visibility and influence among European institutions and academic stakeholders by combining institutional outreach, network building, editorial coordination, and business development.
Your responsibilities
Bureau leadership and institutional relations
- Represent News Tank Academic across the European higher education, research, and innovation ecosystem.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Strengthen News Tank Academic’s visibility, influence, and reputation in Brussels and across Europe.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Brussels bureau in coordination with the Group’s leadership team.
Business development
- Identify and engage prospective subscribers and strategic partners.
- Develop and retain a portfolio of institutional subscribers.
- Contribute to business growth through subscription development and strategic partnerships.
- Manage opportunities and stakeholder relationships through CRM tools.
Editorial coordination
- Act as a bridge between sector stakeholders and the editorial team.
- Identify emerging trends, subscriber expectations, and policy developments.
- Contribute to shaping editorial priorities and identifying high-value topics.
Events and community engagement
- Represent News Tank Academic at conferences, forums, and industry events across Europe.
- Support the organisation and promotion of flagship News Tank events.
- Foster engagement within the higher education and research community.

Your profile
Education and experience
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (political science, European affairs, management, business, international relations, or equivalent).
- At least five years of professional experience.
- Experience in higher education, research, public affairs, media, or related sectors would be an asset.
Skills and mindset
- Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to represent an organisation with senior-level stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, autonomy, and sense of responsibility.
- Strong interest in European higher education, research, and innovation policies.
- Results-oriented with a proactive approach.
Languages
- Excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken.
- Additional European languages are a strong asset.
Tools
- Proficiency with CRM systems.
- Strong command of digital communication and productivity tools (LinkedIn, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
