Position description

The EU team at EY provides robust and evidence-based policy, regulatory and economic advice, and technical assistance to European institutions mainly.

We make the “European Project” progress by helping our clients to:

  • Gather evidence to identify main needs, challenges, drivers, and impacts;
  • Anticipate change and design public policy responses;
  • Provide technical solutions and implement them;
  • Coordinate the interaction with key stakeholders and communicate decisions and actions to them.

You will be joining our EU Institutions Advisory Team which has a high-profile, expanding project portfolio including for the European Commission and its agencies across a range of policy topics such as SMEs & entrepreneurship, industry & sustainability, market surveillance & standardisation, digital markets, consumer empowerment & awareness & safety, social inclusion, employment & labour mobility, regional competitiveness and others. We currently run projects and framework contracts for DG GROW, DG JUST, DG CNCT, DG FISMA, DG RTD, DG EMPL, DG COMP, EP ITRE, BUDG, LIBE committees and others. Our success is due to our excellent team of about 50 consultants and managers, and we are now looking to strengthen our team with the appointment of a Senior Manager who will be focusing on policy research and analysis.

Your Key Responsibilities

We are looking for experienced Senior Managers, motivated individual(s) who can lead and develop teams to work autonomously in line with our vision, mission, and values. As Senior Manager you will:

  • manage complex projects, deliver evidence-based outputs on time and to the satisfaction of the EC public policy bodies;
  • lead and contribute to proposals, consortia and develop and negotiate budgets;
  • provide intellectual & methodological leadership in projects and proposals;
  • have established network of partners and experts whom you will be able to activate from day one to win, manage and deliver diverse public policy projects;
  • organise and coordinate specific contracts (guiding, and ensuring the quality of the desk research and interviews, etc.) and communicate with the clients;
  • develop data collection guides, questionnaires or research templates;
  • contribute to the leadership and growth of the team by bringing fresh and innovative ideas;
  • encourage collaboration and mutual learning;
  • contribute to the internal training programme and help to develop junior team members.

In addition, as a Senior Manager you will be able to provide supportive leadership to the team. You will have evidence in building business or strong interest in public policy.

 

Qualifications

You have:

  • Master’s degree in EU public policy or similar;
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience;
  • Ability to lead large multidisciplinary and multicultural teams involving partners, experts, and internal teams;
  • Ability to foster talents of colleagues by leading by example and fostering opportunities to learn and grow;
  • Experience of writing and winning competitive bids;
  • Ability to write and communicate with clients, partners, experts, and colleagues in excellent English.
