C4ADS

Position description

C4ADS is seeking an Analyst with language capabilities and/or cultural expertise related to Russia or the post-Soviet space. Our work uses publicly available information, emerging technologies, and novel methodologies to expose and disrupt illicit networks that threaten global peace and security.

As a Russia-focused Analyst, you will be at the heart of this mission. You will build and apply advanced analytical and data-driven approaches, work directly with partners across government and civil society, and help shape the strategy and impact of our programs. You will receive extensive training, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools, and operate in an environment that encourages initiative, learning, and experimentation. We encourage candidates who are eager to build new skills to apply — even if you don’t check every box.

What You’ll Do:

      • Learn and apply advanced investigative, analytical, and data science methods to map and analyze transnational illicit networks.
      • Use native or professional-level proficiency in Russian to identify, collect, analyze, and interpret high-value datasets.
      • Produce analytical outputs—including private dossiers, public reports, and briefings—for audiences such as law enforcement, regulators, and international organizations.
      • Use advanced technologies and methodologies (e.g., Palantir) to support research and analysis.
      • Build subject-matter expertise that expands program capabilities, strengthens partner relationships, and broadens our data holdings.
      • Brief analysis externally, including to senior decision-makers
      • Develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders across government, civil society, and the private sector.
      • Travel internationally to collaborate with partners, conduct training, or support field engagements

What We’re Looking For:

      • Proven work or research experience in investigating, analyzing, or countering illicit networks, organized crime, corruption, conflict, or related issues.
      • Demonstrated interest or hands-on experience with data, technology, or analytical tools.
      • Experience using non-English sources to support research or investigations.
      • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as international relations, area studies, journalism, data science, computer science, or a foreign language.
      • Native or professional-level fluency in Russian.
      • Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and time management skills.
      • Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to team success.

Bonus Points For:

      • Master’s degree in a related field.
      • Technical experience analyzing unstructured data or building investigative methodologies.

How We’ll Reward You:

      • Salary: $65,000
      • Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
      • Retirement: Voluntary 401(k) with 4% employer match
      • Time Off: Unlimited vacation and flex time, emphasizing outcomes over hours
      • Learning: $4,500 annual education stipend to grow your skills and language capabilities
      • Development: Access to customizable professional development resources
      • Culture: A mission-driven team that values hard work, creativity, and a healthy, supportive workplace
