 Under the direct supervision of the Project Officer and overall supervision of the Programme Officer, the Project Associate will be mainly responsible for the implementation of  EU-Asean MECC project activities, including other assigned projects in line with the approved workplans and budgets to support the field team. Work closely with relevant IOM staff and partners to ensure the centrality of protection in the response and to strengthen the protection environment for the refugees.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Project Officer and in close coordination with the Head of Office, support the implementation of project activities and including events organization in line with the approved workplans and budgets; 
  • Support financial and programmatic compliance in project implementation to ensure that all administrative procedures are carried out timely and according to IOM standards; 
  • Identify and report immediately any challenges or risks to the beneficiaries, staff or partners and  suggest operational solutions; 
  • Support the field team to mainstream protection principles and reduce protection concerns in disaster prone areas and work on molibilty-based climate change adaptation. Work closely with relevant IOM staff and partners to ensure the centrality of protection in the response and to strengthen the protection environment for the refugees; 
  • Support the team to collect and maintain relevant information to contribute to the program monitoring of performance indicators and regular reporting systems by preparing data analysis, summary sheets, internal reports and other form of monitoring tools in accordance to program needs; 
  • Support the development of communication plan and visibility strategy in line with the requirements of IOM and project donors to help ensure a positive exposure of project activities and results. 
  •  Support adherence to IOM data protection principles and data protection policy at field level;
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Social Work, Gender, Development Studies, International Relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution with at least three years of relevant working experience, or;
  • Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with at least fiive years of relevant working experience

Work Experience:

  • With working experience in engagement with Asean and Indonesian government and local embassies to facilitate liaison and coordination with institutional stakeholders
  • Experience in humanitarian or development programmes, preferably programmes targeting populations on the move
  • Experience with government coordination;
  • Experience in staff supervision and demonstrated prior experience with leading a team will be an advantage.

Languages:

  • IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. 
  • For this position, fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required (oral and written).
