Position description

GlobalGiving is looking for a globally-minded professional with excellent communication, project management, and relationship-building skills. You will be responsible for supporting the activities of GlobalGiving’s Growth team and its portfolio of partners. You’ll have the opportunity to join a dynamic and mission-oriented team committed to creating impact through partnership. The successful candidate will have experience in business development, client or account management, or working with companies on global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and philanthropic programs.

Primary responsibilities

The Partnerships Senior Associate is a member of the Growth team responsible for managing and maximizing partnerships, primarily with companies, supporting GlobalGiving in growing its community of impactful relationships, and directly contributing to the revenue and impact goals for the Growth team and organization.

The Partnerships Senior Associate works collaboratively to achieve the following:

      • Manage a portfolio of relationships, primarily with companies, for mutual benefit for the partner and GlobalGiving. (70%)
        • Translate partner priorities and needs internally.
        • Coordinate service delivery for partners across GlobalGiving.
        • Provide exceptional customer service and donor stewardship.
        • Act as a trusted advisor to partners.
        • Develop and manage complex projects and partnerships with strong organizational and communication skills.
        • Be a knowledgeable resource on the diverse products and services available through GlobalGiving by deeply understanding the philanthropic and/or CSR priorities for partners.
        • Bring value to partners through creativity, anticipation, and alignment.
        • Deepen relationships with existing partners and identify new opportunities for engagement and partnership.
        • Work collaboratively to improve internal processes, functions, and delivery to promote our value proposition and deliver on partnerships with efficiency, effectiveness, and impact.
        • Manage and document relationships using standard systems according to best practices and uniform expectations.
      • Support prospecting efforts through referrals, research, strategic outreach, and relationship building to identify new opportunities and/or new partnerships. (10%)
        • Develop relationships with prospective partners and support closing new partnerships.
        • Contribute content to support our marketing and communications to the corporate audience.
        • Act as a subject matter and technical expert on partnership management in the philanthropic, CSR, and/or social sector.
        • Stay current on shifting global political/regulatory environments, corporate philanthropy, and giving trends, and use this information in the service of meeting the team’s goals.
      • Utilize Salesforce and other internal tools to maintain a real-time snapshot of relationships and forecast future revenue opportunities.
      • Participate in cross-functional initiatives within GlobalGiving that support the team and organization’s objectives and strategic priorities for growth and impact.

The successful candidate must be self-directed and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess a growth mindset while bringing a sense of humor and nimbleness to the role.

Required Qualifications

For our team to be a great fit for you, the following qualifications should resonate with you:

      • 3-5+ years of experience in corporate giving, client management, and/or international giving partnerships; experience and familiarity with international corporate giving and grantmaking a plus.
      • Demonstrable project management skills and experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
      • Strong client/account management and partnership development skills in a service-oriented environment, with specific experience working with corporations
      • A growth mindset and the unique ability to operate at a strategic level, but also roll up his/her/their sleeves on operational/day-to-day implementation.
      • Proven success in developing and presenting presentations and proposals to institutional partners/funders.
      • A strong strategic orientation, with a demonstrated understanding of where GlobalGiving’s approach fits in the philanthropic and international development ecosystem.
      • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel functions, and other reporting and analytical tools such as Metabase.
      • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
      • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask under a deadline, with great productivity and attention to detail.
      • A passionate belief in the mission of GlobalGiving and a commitment to our core values.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition, the ideal candidate would also have some or all of the following qualifications:

      • Experience working in an online business environment and a strong sense of the technology behind e-commerce, crowdfunding and/or other philanthropic and cause programs.
      • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar contact management systems and other workflow management tools, including Metabase, Jira, or similar.
      • Enthusiasm about traveling – primarily domestically, ~10% of the time

Salary + Benefits

Salary range: $65k to $72k

Location

This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Partnership Management. GlobalGiving is a hybrid workplace. If you intend to apply as a remote-worker, be prepared to speak about your experience with remote employment in the recruitment process.
