Position description

Partnership for Transparency (PTF) is seeking a Communications Professional to grow the profile and visibility of PTF’ achievements and expertise by expanding the organization’s online presence. Specifically, this person will collaborate with colleagues across the organization to develop relevant content for PTF’s website and social media channels. Duties include helping project teams and subject‐matter experts communicate effectively about PTF’s work. As needed, the position will support project management tasks, proposal writing and donor reporting.

This is a part‐time position starting at 32 hrs/week (80%), and requires a commitment of 4 days a week. With growth, this position is expected to expand to full time status. PTF headquarters is located in Washington DC and this position would work hybrid, 2 days in the office with the option of working 2 days remote.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications:

      • Participate in developing and implementing the digital communications strategy to achieve PTF programmatic and fundraising objectives.
      • Provide writing support in preparation of Concept Notes/Proposal development and preparation/distribution of quarterly e‐newsletters.
      • Curate and publish content for the company’s website, social media channels – updating and managing content, and maintaining a fresh look and feel.
        • Maintain PTF’s content calendar (editorial calendar), including global campaign days, working closely with PTF Affiliate Teams (PTF Europe, PTF Asia, PTF Africa Cty).
        • Develop written and multimedia content for the web and social media platforms to support PTF’s positioning in its practice areas.
        • Support colleagues at all levels to write and develop blog, social media, and other content related to their work and that of their projects (e.g., results, innovations, and learning).
        • Create, or coordinate with PTF leadership to create, engaging and content‐rich visual assets (e.g., infographics, Twitter cards).
        • Scan PTF’ networks and identify opportunities for contributions to Twitter chats, other organizations’ blog posts, etc.
        • Contribute to gathering and analysis of data from website and social media analytics, and other measures of audience growth, reach, and engagement.
        • Support PTF’ participation in major events (e.g., conferences, workshops, webinars) by drafting talking points, producing visual assets, and/or coordinating the provision of these and other services, including virtual production support.

Fundraising:

      • Help prepare and submit grant applications; track reporting deadlines; and prepare and submit reports to donors.
      • Manage and update individual donor information and contact management database.
      • Perform donor research for individual prospective donors, corporations, and foundations.
      • Assist the design, layout, and formatting of reports and graphics.

Project Administrative Support:

      • Provide programmatic, research, and admin support in preparation of concept notes and proposals.

Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field
      • Minimum 3 years work experience with NGOs, international development work, marketing, or a combination of education and experience.
      • Strong writing and editing skills; demonstrated ability to write compelling stories, scripts, and/or social media content for international development audiences.
      • Experience creating, launching, and measuring the impact of social media campaigns, especially on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in the digital media software WordPress for website and web content management.
      • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint required
      • Working knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop) preferred
      • Experience producing/editing videos for YouTube and/or other platforms strongly preferred
      • Attention to detail and strong time management skills, and ability to perform multiple tasks independently
      • Working knowledge of international development project management a plus
