As the National Director Sierra Leone (ND) you will strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of World Vision Sierra Leone Strategy, in alignment with the Government of Sierra Leone priorities and Our Promise.
You will be a leader who contributes to World Vision’s Partnership life and unity, by acting as both a local and global representative of the organization. The ND will ensure the country’s operations and operating models maintain the Partnership’s focus on Child Well Being outcomes and aspirations as they apply in the Sierra Leonean specific country context, maximizing the impact in the field while maintaining efficiency as wise stewards of entrusted resources.
The ND Sierra Leone will also lead and manage the WV Sierra Leone team through transition and ensure a turnaround plan implemented in the following areas: Ministry, Finance, Supply Chain Management, People & Culture, Finance & Support Services and Grant Management.
The ND Sierra Leone will also lead national resource development, leading local fund raising and ensuring growth of local resources through effective partnerships with Government of Sierra Leone, the private sector, individual Sierra Leoneans and the Church and the members of WV Sierra Leone. The ND will also ensure the office collaborates effectively with the WV Sierra Leone Advisory Council, other partnership offices and divisions to achieve local and organizational goals.
Qualifications
- At least 12-15 years’ experience in managing effective and efficient operations of a country office or organization, demonstrating sound, people, program, financial management skills and knowledge. (e.g. organizations with over 200 staff and an annual total budget of over $ 20 million).
- At least 10 years’ experience overseeing and/ or managing a large government grant, its acquisition and donor engagement.
- Master’s degree in development studies, international development, management, administration or social sciences or equivalent.
- Proven track record of leading multi-cultural teams in complex, culturally and politically-sensitive contexts and/or multi-sectoral emergency response projects.
- Experience in fundraising in general and generating local revenue in particular, Advocacy and public relations and overseeing large Government grant; its acquisition and donor engagement.
- Good knowledge of financial management and accounting principles, financial control principles and tools.
- Experience in Development and/ Emergency and domestic/ international relief.
