The Opportunity

We are seeking a Grants and Partnerships Manager to join our global team and help secure the resources that sustain and grow our mission. This is a builder’s role—ideal for someone who is resourceful, creative, and eager to shape our growing development function.

You’ll be part of a collaborative operations team spanning development, monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), finance, HR, and administration, and will work closely with program and leadership staff. As IDI’s lead grant writer and project manager for fundraising initiatives, you’ll play a key role in expanding multi-year, unrestricted funding and supporting leadership to cultivate lasting donor relationships.

What You’ll Do

Grant Strategy and Lifecycle Management

      • Serve as IDI’s primary grant writer, producing compelling letters of inquiry, concept notes, proposals, renewals, and related materials.
      • Identify, research, and prioritize funding opportunities aligned with IDI’s mission and strategic priorities.
      • Support design and implementation of fundraising strategies to:
        • Grow annual revenue and renew multi-year grants
        • Deepen relationships with existing funders
        • Secure new institutional support
      • Partner with program, finance, and MEL staff to ensure proposals and reports are accurate, aligned, and strategically positioned for success.
      • Lead execution of 1-2 small donor events annually, partnering with senior leadership on design to deepen funder relationships and help lay the foundation for individual giving.

Project Management and Cross-Team Collaboration

      • Manage the full proposal process—from planning and coordination to review and submission—ensuring timelines, deliverables, and communications stay on track.
      • Partner with program and operations staff on proposal development, adapting your role as needed: drafting, editing, or refining content based on team input.
      • Lead the intake process for newly awarded grants, coordinating kick-off meetings with the MEL Manager, Finance Officer, and program staff to confirm deliverables, reporting requirements, and key milestones.
      • Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure proposals and donor materials reflect IDI’s organizational voice and positioning.
      • As needed, convene small cross-functional meetings to maintain alignment, identify risks, and problem-solve collaboratively.

Operations and Systems

      • Support the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and leadership team members to make the most of their fundraising time and donor engagement.
      • Strengthen and streamline IDI’s tools and processes for prospect research, proposal tracking, and donor stewardship, ensuring funder and grant data are accurately captured and organized across platforms.

What You’ll Bring

      • Exceptional writing and proofreading ability—clear, persuasive, and adaptable (without reliance on AI tools).
      • Fluency in written and spoken English.
      • Strategic perspective—able to see IDI’s role in the global landscape and position us effectively for funding success.
      • Relationship-building skills—collaborates effectively across teams and supports leadership in donor engagement.
      • Project management expertise—plans, coordinates, and executes grant-related projects; confident leading small cross-functional meetings.
      • Subject matter familiarity—knowledge of corporate accountability, human rights, or related funding landscapes.
      • A builder’s mindset—resourceful, creative, and energized by helping to shape something new, with the experience to build effectively and the openness to keep learning as we grow.
      • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
      • Deep commitment to social justice, equity, and IDI’s mission.

What You Can Expect

      • A commitment to your health and wellness and to your growth and professional development.
      • To be part of a collaborative and supportive operations team.
      • Opportunity to partner directly with our founders and senior leadership team to strengthen IDI’s long-term sustainability.
      • To join an organization that strives to live its values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion—and to create an environment where everyone belongs and contributes fully.
