Position description

The Political Science Department at Seattle University invites applications for adjunct positions for AY 2025-2026 in Political Science with a primary focus on comparative politics and a secondary focus on international politics, most likely during winter quarter 2026 and spring quarter 2026, pending budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both introductory courses and upper division courses in comparative politics and/or international politics, and courses in the University Core for non-Political Science majors. The specific subject matter is open to discussion between the successful candidate(s) and the department chair. The department currently does not need coverage on Asia, but is interested in areas such as African politics, European politics, Latin American politics, and Middle East politics. 

Qualifications

Candidates with a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field are preferred, but advanced ABDs will be considered. Evidence of teaching excellence is required.

Compensation at a Glance:
Salary Range: $ 5100 for 5-credit class with a terminal degree (PhD preferred) or $4600 (without a terminal degree)
