Job Description
The Education Preparation Program Research Associate supports the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of assessment systems that guide decision‑making across educator preparation programs. The position is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and reporting data to support program quality, state and accreditation reporting, and evidence‑based continuous improvement. The role requires strong analytical reasoning, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple reporting timelines while communicating findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Assessment System Development & Data Analysis
- Lead the development and maintenance of a multi-source assessment system.
- Collect, verify, clean, and manage student and program data to maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor assessment timelines, documentation, cycles, and reporting requirements.
- Develop clear, well-structured data reports that show trends and support continuous improvement.
- Provide data for state, institutional, and accreditation reporting processes.
- Support faculty and staff in understanding and applying assessment best practices.
Candidate Tracking & Program Reporting
- Track teacher licensure candidates from program entry through graduation.
- Record and analyze student recruitment and enrollment data for program planning.
- Manage documentation and reporting cycles connected to program metrics and evaluation.
Policy Monitoring, Collaboration & Professional Support
- Monitor Tennessee State Board of Education policies and national accreditation standards related to assessment.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to interpret data and guide evidence‑informed decisions.
- Assist in the development of assessment-related training and professional development.
Documentation & System Management
- Maintain accurate assessment records, reporting archives, and documentation needed for state and accrediting bodies.
- Support continuous process improvement efforts to strengthen data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and assessment workflows.
- Ensure confidentiality and adherence to data management standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of assessment processes and data analysis.
- Ability to manage, track, and document candidate and program data.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly in writing.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and recommend data‑informed improvements.
- Ability to adapt to evolving licensure and accreditation requirements.
- Ability to organize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, research, analytics, information systems, statistics, social sciences, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Preferred:
- A graduate degree in education, research methods, analytics, or a related field.
- Experience with datasets, spreadsheets, databases, or reporting systems.
- Experience cleaning and summarizing data.
- Experience preparing reports or presenting findings.
- Familiarity with assessment, evaluation, or accreditation processes.
- Experience managing reporting timelines or project workflows.

Compensation and Benefits
- UT Market Range: MR09
- Anticipated hiring salary: $55,000 – 62,000
