Together for Girls works in over 20 countries around the world and combines state of the art data with powerful advocacy to end violence against children and adolescents, especially sexual violence. In 2022, Together for Girls launched and continues to host the Brave Movement, a global advocacy movement of survivors and allies working to end childhood sexual violence.

Position Overview

The Online Safety Manager will take the lead on Brave’s digital safety advocacy and campaign work, including overseeing the delivery of grants focused on this work. This will include the establishment, from concept refinement, recruitment and launch, of a new Safe Tech Survivor Council. The role will require a strong understanding of safeguarding, and experience working in a trauma formed manner. The role will also include working closely with the broader online safety community, to ensure the council is working within and for this sector, and to enable opportunities for influence for the council after its establishment.

– * This is a 14-month position with possible renewal. Please note that hiring for this position is contingent upon final confirmation of funding for the initiative. The anticipated start date for this role is mid-April 2026.**

Responsibilities and Duties

Lead Brave’s global online safety campaign, ensuring it is survivor-informed and coalition-based, and driving collective action through a network of partner organizations to advance shared advocacy goals.
Design and oversee campaign strategy to amplify survivor voices, shape public discourse and policy on online safety, and influence government and industry commitments to embed lived experience at the core of digital platform accountability.
Lead the establishment of the Safe Tech Survivor Council, finalizing its concept and framework through co-creation with survivor activists and online safety experts.
Recruit and onboard council members through an inclusive, diverse, and trauma-informed process that centers lived experience.
Coordinate partnerships with technology companies and allies to create meaningful opportunities for the Council to advise on digital products, platforms, and policies, and lead the strategic launch of the Council within the online safety community.
Lead advocacy and campaign initiatives to raise awareness of digital safety and drive accountability among technology companies and governments, including survivor-led activations, media engagement, and scorecard initiatives.
Oversee project management and budget for all campaign components, ensuring clear timelines, deliverables, financial oversight, and coordination across internal teams and external partners.
Track and report on project accomplishments, progress against objectives, and key outcomes.
Monitor and evaluate campaign performance to ensure alignment with Brave’s broader mission and survivor-centered values.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

4+ years of experience in advocacy, campaigning, coalition-building, or partnership development, ideally in an international context
Understanding of the global online and digital safety landscape, including related policy and technology debates
Demonstrated experience working with survivors and applying trauma-informed and safeguarding principles
Proven public campaigning and strategic communications skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and mobilize diverse audiences
Experience in co-creation and participatory approaches
Strong project management and coordination skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative working style suited to a global, remote team environment, with cultural humility and adaptability across contexts

Location & Ways of Working

This full-time position should be based in the United States and all applicants must have existing work authorization. Please note that Together for Girls is not able to sponsor or support visa applications for this position.

Together for Girls is a fully remote organization. All team members are expected to be available during the organization’s priority scheduling hours of 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The other four hours that the team member chooses to work are flexible and may be coordinated with their supervisor.

This position might also require travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time.

Compensation

This role offers a competitive salary adjusted to the cost of labor in the city where the candidate resides. Final salary within this location adjusted range will also be determined by the candidate’s qualifications and years and type of experience.
