The School of Education at Indiana University Kokomo invites applications for a full-time Visiting Lecturer in Education / Paraprofessional Coordinator beginning August 1, 2025. This is a three-year, 10-month per year term with an additional summer administrative stipend. The position is subject to renew after the 2027-2028 academic year. Position Overview

The Visiting Lecturer in Education/Paraprofessional Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating the Pathways for Paraprofessionals Program to meet program objectives, including program design, recruitment, retention, and support. This role involves collaborating with P12 educational partnerships, managing the onboarding process for paraprofessional students, and working closely with campus support services to ensure the success of the program. The coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between paraprofessional candidates, university instructors, P12 mentor teachers, academic advisors, and school district partners.
Additionally, the successful candidate will teach two courses each semester in our undergraduate teacher education program. The specific courses taught will depend on the candidate’s background, with priority areas including literacy (science of reading), special education, early childhood education, social studies, and/or curriculum design and delivery.

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Education, or related content field, with a specialization to teach relevant courses.
- Five+ years of experience teaching in P12 classroom.
- Demonstration of strong communication and organizational skills, and a team-oriented approach to work.
- Commitment to teaching, service, and student engagement.
- Ability to teach college-level courses in multiple formats (in person, online, and hybrid).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or related field.
- Experience and evidence of successful teaching at the university level, including in online and/or hybrid settings.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead learning programs.
- Expertise in adult learning theory to effectively coordinate efforts while catering to the developmental needs of adult learners.
- Experience working with educational institutions and support services.
- Experience using Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.

Additional Qualifications
Paraprofessional Coordinator
- Monitor and support paraprofessionals’ progress throughout the program.
- Coordinate the schedule of classes for the program.
- Coordinate the program orientation and new student onboarding.
- Create and implement strategies to recruit qualified paraprofessionals.
- Conduct outreach and promotional activities to increase program visibility.
- Work with campus support services to provide ongoing resources and assistance to paraprofessionals.
Visiting Lecturer
- Teach and prepare two courses per semester in our teacher education program. Courses may be in-person, Online, hybrid, or in additional formats, and may be offered in the evenings.
- Conference with students regarding coursework, fieldwork, and academic endeavors.
- Provide service to the school, college, campus, and university and participate in shared governance activities.
- Manage a productive teaching/learning environment.
