Position description
The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are seeking to appoint a post-doctoral research scientist to work in Professor Polly Roy’s dynamic and productive research laboratory at LSHTM. The post is funded by Wellcome Trust and is focused on double-stranded RNA virus replication. Applicants should be highly motivated researchers who wish to make an impact in research.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic with extensive relevant experience in lab-based microbiology, virology and cell culture techniques. Further information is available in the job description/person specification.
The post is full-time 1 FTE and fixed-term until 31st December 2026. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is available from 1st October 2025.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,097 – £51,156 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
