Responsibilities
- Plan, ccoordinate and monitor consultants’ activities to ensure timely submission of quality deliverables while maintaining good communication with and between the consultants and beneficiaries to achieve the project objectives, outputs, and outcomes.
- Coordinate, advise, and provide on-the-job training to PIU staff and UNDP throughout project implementation. The Project Coordinator must ensure adequate guidance is provided and that knowledge is transferred correctly to PIU staff and UNDP throughout the Technical Assistance implementation process to carry out their daily activities efficiently and on time.
- Liaise and coordinate with the beneficiaries and donors, gathering information from the relevant ministries and other key stakeholders, especially those in charge of local content development, to avoid overlapping activities.
- Undertake any activities and/or reviews related to the project whenever required or requested.
- Monitor the special account spending and timely submission of justifications per the relevant guidelines.
- Provide the necessary project data in the various platforms as required by the Institution and Ensure the transfer of knowledge to Project beneficiaries.
- Based on the project objectives, plan the implementation of the project activities, and obtain the necessary approvals.
- Monitor the implementation and progress of project activities to ensure compliance with the approved plan and budget and record progress.
- Track all project implementation stages by documenting and recording the completion of the project activities, outputs, and outcomes systematically and ensuring adherence to planned deadlines.
- Identify challenges and suggest changes when needed.
- Follow up on the implementation of all project activities with relevant parties (beneficiary SMEs, UNDP /AfDB, government and key stakeholders, consultants, etc.).
Education requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in economics, Development Economics, Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, Project Management or relevant related field is required .
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience
- Applicants with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience.
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience working in private sector development, on local content and small and medium enterprise development, and experience in building capacity-building projects in the region.
Language
- Fluency in Spanish language is required.
- Working Knowledge of English and French is an added advantage.
