Under the overall guidance of the Procurement Specialist, the Consultant will provide operational support to the procurement unit, specifically in relation to carrying out day-to-day procurement actions and other procurement matters. The consultant will also provide support in managing the contractor portfolio and performance.

Duties and responsibilities:

The Consultant will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Processing, monitoring, reviewing and follow-up on actions related to execution of new and/or ongoing procurement activities.
  • Providing updates, guidance and support to client divisions on any procurement issues related to their pipeline procurement requirements;
  • Responding to routine requests for information;
  • Maintain official procurement data, records and information material in both hard and soft copy files in the shared drive, specifically the Individual Consultant database.
  • Prepare reports, analyses and statistics as and when required;
  • Take an active role and support process of selection, negotiation, management, monitoring and closure of contracts and purchase orders;
  • Draft, prepare and send internal and external written correspondence; and
  • Organize her/his work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments with minimal direction.

Required experience and qualifications:

  • Post Graduate degree with at least three (3) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience;
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in procurement implementation and oversight;
  • Good knowledge of office technology such MS office package; experience working with databases in highly desirable;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and highly developed cultural sensitivity in communicating with all levels of staff and external clients, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to perform additional tasks as required and adapt to changing priorities and needs within the organization; and
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential for this position.
