POSITION TITLE Sustainability & DEIB Associate
DEPARTMENT Human Resources
REPORTS TO Director of Human Resources
FLSA STATUS Non-exempt, part-time, maximum 25 hours per week
POSITION DATES 9-months with an option to extend by three months for a full 12-month stent.
LOCATION Remote (United States except New York and California)
The Sustainability and DEIB Associate will support ISEP’s strategic goals to ensure sustainability initiatives are inclusive and benefit all relevant stakeholders. This position will assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of sustainability and DEIB initiatives as it pertains to ISEP’s strategic plan.
Internal: Chief Diversity Officer, and ISEP Taskforces & Committees e.g. IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) Taskforce Chair, Sustainability Taskforce Chair
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate’s projects may vary based on their own interest and experience. Preferred projects and responsibilities include:
Sustainability Support
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to performance metrics.
- Support the development and implementation of sustainability programs and goals.
- Monitor and track sustainability metrics and performance.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote sustainability awareness.
DEIB Support
- Assist in developing and implementing DEIB tools, strategies and initiatives that support the DEIB integration ISEP systems and culture.
- Support DEI-focused training and education programs.
- Help manage DEI-related events and projects.
- Conduct research and analysis on DEI topics to inform decision-making.
Collaboration and Communication Support
- Work collaboratively with various teams, committees and stakeholders to support DEI and sustainability efforts.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on DEI and sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to DEI and sustainability programs.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social justice, environmental science, human resources). Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- An initiative-taking attitude and eagerness to learn and contribute.
- Familiarity with DEIB principles and best practices.
- Understanding of sustainability concepts and frameworks.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs)
- Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information
- Knowledgeable and experienced in utilizing Office365 or Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s degree or Graduate School Experience
- Current or former study abroad experience
