Position description

We are pleased to announce that the CEPS Data Science unit is currently seeking an intern to join our team for a six-month period. The intern will play a vital role in creating and designing communication materials and content for AI World, as well as assisting in the management of the online communication channels. This position presents an excellent opportunity to develop strong communication and design skills, enhance your AI knowledge and all this within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About AI World

AI World is a comprehensive observatory mapping artificial intelligence globally with a focus on investments, patents, jobs, skills, industries, countries and regions. It is designed to bridge the gap between the impact of AI on our world and the public understanding of its dynamics. We are looking for a creative, self-starting Digital Communications Intern to support our outreach and visibility across platforms. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, data science, and digital communication, and contribute to one of the leading AI platforms.

The ideal starting date for the internship is September 2025 for a six-month period.

Main tasks

As an intern in the Data Science unit at CEPS, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various tasks and projects that aim to enhance the unit´s communication efforts. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Create engaging digital content for web and social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.);
  • Draft short, compelling blog posts and news stories;
  • Design visuals, graphics, and reports using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Support content updates and management of AI World;
  • Help plan and execute communication campaigns, including for high-level events;
  • Work closely with AI researchers and data experts to turn insights into accessible narratives.

 

Qualifications

Your background and qualifications

  • You are a registered student for the full period (September 2025 – January 2026), studying journalism, communication, marketing, machine learning or equivalent;
  • You are familiar with:
    • Graphic design (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, or online tools like Canva);
    • Social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Bluesky);
    • Video production/editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere).
  • You have an excellent command of English;
  • You are interested in artificial intelligence, communications, policymaking and research.

Your profile

  • You have a keen eye for design aesthetics and can create visually appealing and engaging communication materials;
  • You have the ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks, ensuring timely delivery of projects;
  • You are enthusiastic about communication and creative approaches to complex topics, and you approach them with a result-driven mindset, striving to achieve meaningful impact;
  • You show enthusiasm for AI and willingness to engage with technical topics;
  • You possess strong writing skills and creativity in visual storytelling;
  • You are comfortable working in an international research team, collaborating effectively with colleagues. Additionally, you are proactive and can work independently, taking ownership of tasks and delivering quality results.
