Position: Director, Foreign Policy

Salary: $179,629.00 per year.
How You Will Contribute
- Act as Team Lead overseeing daily operations of grant-owners, researchers, and project managers.
- Mentor and supervise, as needed, grant-owners, researchers, and project managers contributing to Stand Together Trust’s (STT) Foreign Policy portfolio.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and pursue opportunities to improve the efficacy of STT’s capabilities and develop strategy and financial forecasts.
- Support direct reports growth and performance through application of Principles Based Management.
- Maintain strong knowledge of STT’s strategies and goals, including an up-to-date perspective on progress to goals. When compliant, collaborate with capabilities across the Stand Together community to maximize the impact of partnerships and grants.
- Ensure direct reports have access to resources that support compliance and honor donor intent and are incentivized to use them.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain a broad strategy for ensuring knowledge sharing and collaboration across STT’s portfolios and the Stand Together community.
- Continuously gain knowledge of the foreign policy landscape to inform strategy development.
- Solicit, analyze, and recommend partnerships that further STT’s vision for foreign policy. Strategically optimize and scale partnerships.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field and 6 years of experience developing strategic philanthropic investment strategies and reinforcing restraint-driven foreign policy. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, the employer will accept two (2) additional years of experience developing strategic philanthropic investment strategies and reinforcing restraint-driven foreign policy.
Must have six (6) years of experience in all of the following:
- Analyzing results of investments and activities resulting from partnerships with Foreign Policy experts and organizations;
- Coordinating with internal and external partners on strategy development related to restraint-driven foreign policy;
- Managing and forecasting an annual budget of at least $7M;
- Relaying an organizational point of view on foreign policy issues to media and other external audiences; and
- Developing and maintaining relationships with at least 5 external stakeholders/grantees who are: creating research and ideas, developing talent, or engaging in thought leaderships to inform national and international foreign policy debates;
Must have one (1) year of experience in all of the following:
- Managing a team of one or more direct reports who are maintaining relationships with at least 20 external stakeholders/grantees who are: creating research and ideas, developing talent, or engaging in thought leadership to inform national and international foreign policy debates.
- Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.
- Domestic travel required up to 15%.
