About the Employer Lake Tahoe Preparatory School is a private co-educational college-preparatory, boarding high school located in the Lake Tahoe, California area. Our close-knit residential community fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and outdoor adventure. We are committed to inclusive education and supporting a diverse student body with varying academic, social, and emotional needs. Job Summary Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Special Education Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students with mild to moderate learning differences, committed to individualized instruction, and enthusiastic about participating in a vibrant boarding school community. Key Responsibilities * Provide direct instruction and academic support to students with IEPs, 504 Plans, or learning differences * Develop, implement, and monitor individualized learning plans * Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and support inclusive practices * Conduct assessments and progress monitoring * Communicate regularly with families, faculty, and administrators regarding student progress and accommodations * Participate in Student Support Team meetings and collaborate with mental health and learning specialists * Contribute to the residential life of the school through dormitory supervision, evening/weekend activities, or advisory responsibilities, if applicable Compensation & Benefits * On-campus housing and meals (for residential faculty) * Health, dental, and vision insurance * Professional development opportunities * Beautiful mountain/lake setting with outdoor recreation access Requirements / Qualifications

  • Special Education Credential: Mild/Moderate. * Copy of Credential, Resume, Cover Letter, 3 references (Name, Phone, and Email).

Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred * Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs) or equivalent out-of-state credential * Experience working with high school students in academic support or special education settings * Knowledge of differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and executive functioning strategies * Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills * Enthusiasm for working in a boarding school environment and engaging with students beyond the classroom Preferred Qualifications * Experience with independent or boarding school settings * Familiarity with college preparatory curricula and accommodations for standardized testing * Willingness to lead extracurricular activities or coach athletics
