Responsibilities
- Provide technical inputs in developing the research context, areas to address, operational issues (e.g., known challenges and bottlenecks), and opportunities.
- Conduct sufficient literature review on the existing theories and knowledge on the inaction studies on social protection.
- Design a qualitative research framework to quantify the negative impact of the absence of the MCBP and VWB programmes and cost of inaction for both urban and rural areas.
- Lead the qualitative research including questionnaire preparation, data collection, analysis and report.
- Support the drafting of a policy advocacy paper, which will feed into the national development plan for rural and urban areas, with additional focus on expanding the MCBP and VWB programmes in urban.
- Support WFP in organizing a policy dialogue session involving relevant line ministries, academia, research agencies, CSOs and development partners to validate the policy advocacy content derived from the research.
Requirements:
- Advanced university degree in economics, statistics, development studies or other relevant fields. Having substantial credibility and good rapport for contribution in the field of economic analysis, development statistics and social protection related analysis.
- Minimum 15 years of work experience in econometric analysis, research, and clear understanding on social protection, cost-benefit analysis and inaction studies.
- Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.
