Position Summary

Administrative direction, oversight, and strategic planning for all residency, fellowship, medical student, and nursing education financial and administrative operations, including program development and expansion. Working in partnership with the Vice Chair for Education, Residency Program Director, Executive Director, and Department Chair, this role will oversee adherence to ACGME accreditation requirements and develop initiatives to meet the educational strategic and operational needs of the department.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develops and implements the strategic direction for Education, serving as primary administrative advisor to the Vice Chair, Residency Program Director, Executive Director, and Department Chair for all education-related matters.
  • Ensures strategic goals are being met and exceeded.
  • Develops strategies and implements new, innovative approaches and expansions of multiple key education training programs.

Financial Management

  • Preparation and oversight of department education budget and financial plan.
  • Designs and implements the business system process that improves the management of the education program’s increasing scale of operations.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures to ensure efficient workflow; manages cost vs. process improvement decisions.

Operational Administration

  • Oversight of coordinator and manager education team; directs all personnel matters for learners; reviews and approves staffing changes.
  • Identifies, plans, and oversees new academic strategies and initiatives for both program improvement and financial feasibility.
  • Leads education communications and marketing efforts for recruitment and retention.
  • Establishes key performance indicators, processes documentation, and ensures effective succession planning.
  • Represents the department on university committees.

Academic Administration

  • Develops and implements quality and performance metrics along with operationalization of innovative incentive plans across all faculty and twelve clinical divisions.
  • Works with the department chair, Vice Chair for Education, Residency Program Director, and Executive Director to develop new programs and projects.
  • Prepares annual report for education administration and oversight of annual reports as they relate to education data.
  • Charged with creating sustainable and stable workflows, a culture of accountability that is future-looking, systems-based, and outcome-focused.
  • Ensures the efficient and effective delivery of the work that supports the broader education mission.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$96,000.00 – $169,300.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
