Central to this effort is the Global Project Manager – Market Analysis, who leads this function, ensuring quality, relevance, and alignment with NRC’s goals. The role involves shaping policy and strategy, change management, fundraising, promoting cross-organisational learning, and strengthening external partnerships, all while collaborating across NRC’s technical areas to identify gaps and drive informed, impactful humanitarian interventions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for identifying and articulating project opportunities linked to the development area. Accountable for the management of these projects, including progress, budgets, spending and donor reporting.
- Project management (20%) of 23-month ECHO funded project “Transforming Humanitarian Supply Chain – Market Analysis”. Assuming overall management and responsibility for the implementation of the action. Responsible to lead on the selection, engagement and collaboration with the coordination mechanisms involved in the project implementation, building on the foundations laid. Validate all outputs/deliverables of the project, and act as main point of contact for representatives of the coordination mechanisms.
- Support the implementation of the 2022-2026 NRC Global Strategy, with a particular focus on strengthening evidence-based decision making. Quarterly project reporting under SO1 Quality Accountability and Learning, and to the Project Steering Committee.
- Responsible for the compilation of learning from evaluations, organisational pilots and across the regions.
- Responsible for the institutionalisation and dissemination of best practices and learning related to Type 1 market analysis
- Supporting market analysis training facilitation as needed.
- Contribute to the development of policies and strategies relevant to Type 1 market analysis
- Responsible for further development of Type 1 market analysis in NRC and its adoption in close cooperation with country office, CCs and thematic areas.
- Responsible for the provision of support and capacity building along the technical reporting lines (to ROs and COs) on Type 1 market analysis
- Lead and support the development, revision and adaptation of tools and methodologies related to Type 1 market analysis.
Requirements:
- Educational (MA level or equivalent) and professional knowledge in International Development Studies, Humanitarian Action or Global Political Economy
- Minimum 5 years of relevant humanitarian/development working experience
- Demonstrated ability in planning, organising and implementing projects/initiatives
- Advanced people management and communication skills
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Fluency in Arabic, French or Spanish is an added asset
- Proven record of accomplishment in full cycle project management (proposal development, piloting, project implementation, final report)
- Ability to line manage staff.
