Senior Program Manager School of Medicine Center for Continuing Education
Continuing Medical Education – SOM
Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Senior Program Manager will perform duties involved in the management, coordination and administration of continuing education activities and will be capable of working without direct supervision. This position will also function in a liaison role representing the Center for Continuing Education in the planning and development of continuing education projects. The Center for Continuing Education oversees a robust CME program with over 75 activities per year (including conferences, seminars, symposia, and RSS, e.g. grand rounds, etc.) with participation ranging from 50 to 1200 attendees per activity.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in conference management and/or large event management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed
- Ability to independently prioritize, implement, and manage a variety of project tasks with multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as an effective team member.
- Knowledge of registration or related software
Required Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalency
- 5 years related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education setting
- Knowledge of continuing medical education
Compensation Information
This position is classified as “exempt, salaried” and is assigned to pay grade 26.
