Clean Air Task Force (CATF)

Clean Air Task Force (CATF)

Position description

Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. This is accomplished through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with the private sector. CATF is highly respected for its deep expertise and research on energy and industrial systems and potential strategies, technologies, and policies that can radically shrink their impact on the planet’s atmosphere. Our team of experts and advocates (and global network of subject matter experts and civil society partners) put this research and knowledge into action by designing and enacting public policies that drive toward zero emissions. We also support policies and work directly with private industry to innovate in technology to make the path to zero emissions swift and affordable. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.

ROLE

The Manager for the Industrial Innovation Program will lead on analyses, thought leadership, and advocacy around industrial decarbonization in hard-to-abate sectors in Europe. They will focus on supporting the deployment of key clean technologies, including hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and electrification, across critical industries. This role will contribute to deepening CATF’s technical expertise in decarbonizing the highest emitting sectors in Europe to better inform advocacy efforts for pragmatic industrial policy, including at the EU-level and in key Member States.

      • Lead of technical outputs based on our analyses, including reports, briefs, blogs, presentations, and other relevant materials.
      • Develop thought leadership on the impact of existing policies, identify gaps, and support the development of meaningful policy interventions based on our analyses at the EU and national levels.
      • Collaborate with CATF colleagues and outside partners to plan and execute special projects and events, such as meetings and workshops, to advance CATF’s policy objectives in Europe.
      • Collaborate with peers at partner (e-)NGOs, industry, and other stakeholders working on shared policy projects, campaigns, and external communications.
      • Support engagement with policymakers, industry, civil society partners, and technical organizations.
      • Represent CATF’s industry team at relevant external engagement activities, including presentations and speaking opportunities at key stakeholder fora, media engagements, and targeted written communication materials.
      • Participate in team meetings and support programmatic work, as needed.

      • Good understanding of the European political and legislative landscape.
      • Experience in managing meetings and respecting internal and external deadlines.
      • Proficient in English, with strong writing skills.
      • Supportive team player with good interpersonal skills, with a sense of diplomacy to manage a varied group of stakeholders.
