Position description
Headquartered in Barcelona, the Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) is an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to helping fragile and conflict- affected states achieve more sustainable negotiations and transitions out of war or authoritarianism. IFIT’s core work is to serve as an expert resource on integrated policy solutions for locally-led efforts to break cycles of conflict, crisis or repression.
IFIT is currently seeking a full-time native Arabic-speaking intern for its HQ internship programme beginning on 1st of February 2026. The selected intern will support IFIT’s MENA-focused projects through research, project support and event assistance. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the organisation’s needs.
Although the internship is unpaid, IFIT offers: 1) reimbursement of travel to or from Barcelona for the purposes of the internship (up to a maximum of 500€), and 2) partial offset of specific living costs incurred by undertaking the internship in Barcelona (up to a maximum of 900€ per month).

Location:

Qualifications:
- University degree in international relations, international law, development studies, peace and security, or a related field
- Demonstrated interest and experience in one or more of IFIT’s areas of work
- Strong research skills
- Native fluency in Arabic and a strong command of spoken and written English
- Very good drafting, editing, and translation skills
- Detail-oriented, organised, and reliable
